A briefing agent is a reliability problem dressed as a research problem. It runs while you sleep, so anything that can fail silently will, and you find out by receiving nothing. That is why there are two search paths here rather than the single best one, and why scheduled ingestion is treated as its own component instead of a cron line. Memory is what separates a briefing from an RSS reader: without it the agent has no notion of what it already told you, and the signal-to-noise collapses in the second week.

- Search-provider APIs are the usual failure point and most are paid. Check quota behavior before pointing a daily cron at them.
